Who are we?
A unique whale and wildlife watching organization that is run by the Mayoral family, the true pioneers of whale watching in Baja! Pachico Mayoral, a local fisherman in Baja's San Ignacio Lagoon since 1960, was the first person to have an encounter with a friendly gray whale. A legend in whale watching, as eloquently detailed in the "Whale Watching Bible," Dick Russell's 2001 book Eye of the Whale , Pachico started running whale trips in the the mid/early-seventies, after his first friendly encounter with a gray whale in 1972. Now he runs a tour operation in which his entire family is involved. Pachico's children were born and raised on the shores of the San Ignacio Lagoon and grew up as whale watching guides.
The Mayoral's are the folks you want to help guide your whale interaction experience!

"...the whales were definitely more awesome than Bev or I had even dreamed they could be. We not only saw whales, we petted whales. If the whales had gotten any friendlier one of them would have been in the panga with us. At one time there were four whales alongside and under the panga. You could feel the whale's back rub the panga bottom, nudging it ever so little. Interacting with gray whales is a phenomenon hard for me to understand. They obviously are curious about us. They don't seem afraid in the least....They take good looks at you, head raised above the water, before they come to the boat submerged just a few feet down, rolling over on their side to look up at you as you lean over the side of the panga. They float to the surface, you caress the top of their head with your finger-tips, it's magical!!! Both Bev and I got to pet a whale. I've never seen her so thrilled in all her life."
